Tempro's Calibration Lab: fast, reliable, and close to home

A sensor, data logger, or measuring instrument is only as reliable as its last calibration. That's why Tempro has its own calibration lab, where we check devices daily according to fixed, traceable standards. In this article, we explain how our standard calibration works, what you can expect from it, and when it's better to opt for a formally accredited calibration.

Why standard calibration through Tempro is a logical choice

For most applications, a standard calibration through our own lab is the fastest and most practical solution. We know the devices we sell inside and out, work with reference equipment that is itself traceably calibrated to national or international standards, and our technicians have years of experience with the specific measuring instruments and calibration methods we use every day.

The big advantage: short turnaround times, personal contact, and no unnecessary detour for devices that function perfectly in practice within their intended use. Every calibration certificate we issue clearly states the measured values, the criteria applied, and the reference standard used. This way, you know exactly what was measured and how.

For internal quality control, periodic maintenance of measuring equipment, or applications where no external accreditation requirement applies, this is the right path for the vast majority of our customers.

What our standard calibration is — and isn't

We consider transparency important, including about the limits of our services. So here are a few things you should know:

No ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Tempro is not an accredited calibration laboratory under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, nor are we officially recognised by the manufacturers of the devices we calibrate. Our calibrations follow internal, consistent procedures, but without the formal quality structure audited by an accreditation body that ISO/IEC 17025 requires.

Internal qualification of our technicians. The staff who carry out calibrations are trained in-house and have extensive experience with the equipment and methods used. There is currently no external, formal certification programme for calibration technicians attached to this.

No Pass/Fail statement on the certificate. Our certificate reports the measured values and the calibration criteria applied, but does not state whether a device is "approved" or "rejected" for your specific application. That assessment — whether the results meet the requirements of your quality system or process — deliberately remains with you as the owner or user of the instrument. You know your application and your acceptance criteria best.

And if you do need an accredited calibration?

Some situations call for a formal ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration certificate: think of an audit, a customer requirement, a legal obligation, or an internal quality system that requires it.

There too, you don't need to look any further. Tempro works together with an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited partner laboratory. On request, we arrange the calibration through this partner lab, and you receive a fully accredited certificate, with all the associated traceability and formal recognition the standard requires.

The only difference: an accredited calibration usually requires a somewhat longer turnaround time and a higher cost than our standard service, precisely because of the extra formal requirements. Let us know in advance if you need this route, and we'll plan it in correctly right away.

  • Accredited ISO/IEC 17025 calibration is available on request through our partner lab, for situations where a formally recognised certificate is required.
  • Full transparency: every certificate clearly shows what was measured and according to which criteria, so you can judge for yourself whether the device meets your specific requirements.
